High-efficient energy conversion materials and devices

Kazuhide KUMAKURA received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from Hokkaido University, Japan, in 1993, 1995, and 1998, respectively. He joined NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation in 1998. His current interests are highly efficient energy conversion devices using nitride semiconductors and two-dimensional layered materials. He was a visiting researcher at Paul-Drude-Institute, Germany during 2007-2008. He was appointed as Distinguished Scientist of NTT in 2015. He is currently a group leader of Thin-Film Materials Research Group and Low-Dimensional Nanomaterials Research Group. He received the Young Scientist Presentation Award at the Japan Society of Applied Physics Spring Meeting in 2000. He is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics.
