Nobuyuki MATSUDA received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from Tohoku University, Miyagi, in 2005, 2006, and 2009. In 2009 he was a postdoctoral researcher in Research Institute of Electrical Communication, Tohoku University. In 2009 and 2014 he was a visiting research scholar at University of Bristol, UK. He joined NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation in 2010 and has since been engaged in research on integrated quantum photonics and single-photon nonlinear optics. He was appointed as Distinguished Scientist of NTT in 2017. He is currently a member of Quantum Optical State Control Research Group. He received the 2008 Graduate School of Engineering Award, Tohoku University, the 32nd JSAP Outstanding Research Paper Award in 2012 and the JSAP poster award in 2014. He is a member of the Optical Society (OSA), the Physical Society of Japan, and the Japan Society of Applied Physics.
