Biography

Kengo NOZAKI received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Yokohama National University, Japan, in 2003, 2005, and 2007 respectively. He joined NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation in 2008. His current interests are ultralow-power nanophotonic semiconductor devices based on photonic crystal. He was appointed as Distinguished Scientist of NTT in 2016. He is currently a member of Photonic Nanostructure Research Group. He received the Best Paper Award at Photonics in Switching 2012, the Young Researchers Award from IEICE Lasers and Quantum Electronics in 2014, the Best Paper Award from OECC/PS in 2016, and the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (the Young Scientists’ Prize) in 2019. He is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics.
