Papers for the Proceedings

Announcement

Present Status

.

Proceedings of the symposium MS2000 will be published as a special Issue of Physica C.

An invited paper is given 6 pages, and a contributed paper 4 pages of the issue in print.

All papers submitted will be refereed before the publication.

First, visit the WWW page of the publisher:

http://www.elsevier.nl/inca/publications/ store/5/0/5/7/1/3/505713.pub.istaut.shtml#istaut

and, read the instruction for the authors.

Two of "Guest Editors" for the issue have been chosen from the committee of the symposium. Your manuscript should be sent to one of the guest editor, whose address is the same as that of the committee. Be careful not to send your manuscript to the publisher.@(see the bottom of this page.)

The deadline for the paper is April 28th (Fri.), 2000, to the committee, by ordinary mail. (The address is at the bottom of this page.)

Three copies of your manuscript and your figures and original figures should be sent to the committee by ordinary mail, AND one LaTeX comupuscript by e-mail is expected.

Submission only by "electronic submission" is not so recommended, and acceptable if and only if

  • your manuscript is written with the LaTeX and the style-file, as described below.
  • you and the committee confirm that the compuscript of the draft-version of your manuscript reliably reproduce it in our computer environment, at least two weeks before the deadline above, that is, by April 14th (Fri.). Especially, care about the figures. They often causes troubles, even if they are perfectly reproducible on your computer environment.
  • The original figures arrive by the deadline by "ordinary" mail.
Therefore, electronic submission is not very effective. Perhaps, it is effective when you give small and important corrections for the manuscript which you already send to us.

LaTeX files for the compuscript

You need not to prepare a camera-ready manuscript. A double-spaced manuscript is required, as an ordinary paper submission to the Physica C. The layout will be done by the publisher.

In order to prepare the double-spaced manuscript, using LaTeX is strongly recommended. The style-files exist in the WWW site of the publisher:

http://www.elsevier.nl/locate/latex

visit the WWW page and get three style-files:

  • elsart.cls
  • elsart.sty
  • elsart12.sty

A template ("***.tex" file) using these style files is prepared by the committee, and it is available from here.

Basically, you can prepare your "double-spaced" manuscript, only by rewriting the title, the authors, the contents, .....etc. of the template file.

However, it will be helpful for you to get the instruction-files from the publisher. They are available as three types of the forms: dvi, pdf, ps. You can prefer one of the files on the page here.

Some instructions for preparing your manuscript using the template-file and the style-files are also described in the template-file itself. After you get the template-file, what you should do first is "rename" the template-file (originally, it named "ms2000.tex") to another name. and confirm the top of the file, because it should depend to your LaTeX version.

If you use LaTeX 2e, you can use ``elsart.cls'' like

 \documentclass{elsart}
If you use a LaTeX 2.09 or a version earlier , use
\documentstyle{elsart}

If you cannot read the description in the template-file, please consult with the committee ms2000@with.brl.ntt.co.jp. We will try to help you or prepare the instruction for the "submission without the LaTeX style files" although it seems a very rare case.

Mail three copies of the manuscript to

Dr. H. Takayanagi, Guest Editor of MS2000 Proceedings
NTT Basic Research Laboratories,
3-1, Morinosato-Wakamiya, Atsugi
Kanagawa 243-0198, Japan

AND

e-mail the LaTeX file to

ms2000@with.brl.ntt.co.jp. Please give the name to the file, which clearly indicates the name of the author, for example, "i-newton.tex".
