Rule Colors

The color of a rule figure determines the color of figures it creates. Red rules create black figures. Black rules create red figures. The event figure in the head of the rule must have the same color as the rule itself.

The figures in the rule head that are matched to figures in the document must be the opposite color. The figures in the rule body that replace figures in the document must also be the opposite color. All other figures in the rule must be the same color. These include equiv line figures, generator figures, the main event figure in the head, and all event generating figures in the body.

In summary, rules create figures that are the opposite of the rule's color. The figures in the rule that are used for matching or replacing are the opposite color. All other figures in the rule are the same color.
