Toshimori Honjo received the B.S., M.S. degrees in information science from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, in 1996 and 1998, and Ph.D. degree in engineering from Osaka University, Osaka, in 2007, respectively. He joined NTT Software Laboratories in 1998. NTT Software Laboratories was renamed to NTT Information Sharing Platform Laboratories in 1999. He was engaged in research on design and implementation of TCP/IP protocol stack for secure and mobile communication. In 2003, he moved to NTT Basic Research Laboratories, and started studying new research field, quantum optics and quantum information. He is currently working on experiment of quantum key distribution. He is a member of American Physical Society (APS).
