TAKEMI MOCHIDA received the B.E. and the M.E. degrees in electrical engineering from Waseda University, Japan, in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He joined Basic Research Laboratories, NTT, Japan, in 1994. He was also a researcher of CREST (Core Research for Evolutional Science and Technology) Program of JST (Japan Science and Technology Corporation) from 1998 to 2003.

His research interests include speech science and technology. He is a member of SfN (the Society for Neuroscience), JNS (the Japan Neuroscience Society), ASA (the Acoustical Society of America), ASJ (the Acoustical Society of Japan), and IEICE (the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineering).
