Yukinori Ono received the B.Eng. degree in 1986, the M.Sc. degree in 1988, and the Dr.Eng. degree in 1996, all from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan.
In 1988, he joined the Thin Film Research Group of LSI Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), Kanagawa Japan, where he was engaged in research on the physics and technology of SiO2/Si interfaces.
In 1996-1997, he was a Visiting Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, where as a member of Prof. Marc Kastnerfs group, he was engaged in research on the low-temperature physics of silicon quantum-dot transport.
In 1997, he joined the Nanodevices Research Group of NTT Basic Research Laboratories (BRL). Since then, he is engaged in research on silicon-based nanodevices. He is now Senior Research Scientist, Supervisor, at NTT BRL and Visiting Professor at Shizuoka University, Japan. He is a member of the IEEE, Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP), and Japan Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE).
