Semiconductor Optoelectromechanics

Hajime OKAMOTO received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in materials science from Waseda University, Japan, in 1998, 2000, and 2004 respectively. He joined NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, in 2004. Since then, he has been engaged in research on semiconductor nanomechanical systems. He was a guest researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne in 2015. He was appointed as Distinguished Researcher of NTT in 2020. He is currently the Group Leader of the Nanomechanics Research Group. He received the Young Author Best Paper Award from the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics in 2000, Young Scientist Presentation Award from the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) in 2008, JSAP Paper Award in 2010, Paper Award from the International Conference on Solid State Devices and Materials (SSDM) in 2010, and the Commendation for Science and Technology from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Young Scientists' Award) in 2014. He is a member of the JSAP.
