Biography

Gento YAMAHATA received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan in 2005, 2007, and 2009, respectively. In 2009, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and a visiting researcher at Harvard University. He joined NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation in 2010. Since then, he has been engaged in research on high-accuracy control of single electrons using silicon nanometer-scale devices. He was a visiting researcher at the National Physical Laboratory, UK in 2015. He was appointed as a Distinguished Scientist of NTT in 2020. He is currently a member of the Nanodevices Research Group. He received the Young Scientist Presentation Award from the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) in 2008 and the JSAP Outstanding Paper Award in 2011. He is a member of the JASP.
