AMS 2011

Introduction

International workshop on atomic-scale manipulation and spectroscopy of surfaces and nanostructures (AMS 2011) will be held on October 13 and 14, 2011, at NTT Atsugi R&D center.

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together researchers in the field of atomic-scale measurements and control of quantum phenomena at surfaces by scanning probe techniques.

This workshop is open to anyone who is interested in this exciting research field and is free of registration fee.

The workshop will provide ample opportunity for stimulating discussions on fundamental issues and collaborations by sharing the research results obtained within the Strategic Japanese-German Cooperative Research Program "Nanoelectronics" (Jointly funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)).

Scope

The scope of the workshop covers the following specific topics:

  • Latest advancements of atom and molecule manipulation
  • New experiments and cutting-edge technologies using scanning probe microscopes
  • Quantum measurements at surfaces
  • Quantum control in artificial nanostructures
