“Complex transition metal oxide thin films for superconductors and magnetic materials”, “Functionalization of 2D materials for novel electronic/photonic devices”, “Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics”, and “Materials Informatics”.
Synthesis of new materials and their dimensionality/crystal symmetry control are big challenges in material science but have potential to discover novel physical phenomena. We are developing high-quality crystal growth technologies for complex transition metal oxides and two-dimensional (2D) layered materials, which consist of a variety of materials ranging from superconductors, magnetic materials to dielectrics and semiconductors, toward next-generation electronics and photonics utilizing their unique functions.
